Ongoing anxiety can become an incredibly painful and frustrating experience. You are trying to get on with the tasks of daily life and of all a sudden you have a sudden attack: a shortness of breath, an uncomfortable feeling of worry or dread and an increased heart rate. This can make completing these tasks incredibly difficult and can even ruin the day as a whole. It’s not a pleasant feeling, and when it is recurring it can become the dominant feeling in life. If this occurs, it is necessary to seek counselling to help reduce the thoughts and feelings that cause anxiety, and devise certain strategies to help cope with the problem.
At AJR Counselling, we provide anxiety counselling to patients from the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie and Newcastle. We can work together to try and get to the root cause of the problem and from there we will devise certain strategies in order to react differently to the thoughts and feelings causing your anxiety. When the effects of anxiety become consistent it is necessary to create a different thought process for when it occurs, in order to see things differently and alleviate the stressful feelings.
We can hold counselling sessions wherever is most comfortable for you. If you would like to go to a café, a park or even going for a hike is fine with me. I want to provide anxiety counselling in a way that is most comfortable for you and in a manner that is welcoming and understanding.
There are a range of symptoms that fall under the general category of anxiety.
